I am heading to the National Speakers Association National Convention and have been preparing my family for my absence. (you know… getting laundry and grocery shopping done so everyone has what they need, etc.) It takes a lot for me to leave my three young children (and hubby) for a few days and nights. The NSA Convention is always something I dare not miss. (if I can help it!)
Why do I feel it is worth my time to pick up and go…and have my young kiddos be without their Mommy for a while? …because this event helps me become a better version of who I am…and THAT will always benefit my family.
This organization and event lifts me up. It challenges me and my goals. It helps me be fully alive and use my brain in ways I may not during the daily grind of motherhood. It helps me to become a better person….which then makes me a better mom and wife. (Thankfully my husband gets it!) So hopefully when I get back, I will be welcomed home with ‘kissies’ and huggies…but will also have a more focused direction with high levels of motivation and inspiration to move my mission forward…in my speaking and writing. Now…it is time to suck down my fully caffeinated tea, bless my family and get prepared to drink from the firehose at NSA12!
What do you do, that helps you to become a better you?
