https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Me9yrREXOj4Although this video was created by Similac to blow up stereotypes of parents and their views of breastfeeding, this video reminds us all of something really important:
We are in this Motherhood thing together! I am reminded that stopping any remaining strands of “mommy wars” or judgments of other Moms starts with me…and you.
A few minutes of a funny video, reminds me that I must halt any judgments that I may consciously or subconsciously place on other Moms. Once I start to think, “Hey we are all on the same team,” I stop judging. I stop seeing others as competition. Believe me, admitting to judging other women is NOTHING I am proud of! I didn’t even realize I was doing it. However, I believe that anytime we compare or feel ‘less than’ it usually stems from some type of judgement.
That Mom who looks pristine in her work wear?
The Mom who wears sweat pants to school functions?
The Mom who hires a cleaning person and a nanny so things (and people) are taken care of while she is at work?
The Mom that stays at home with her children?
The Mom who is at church weekly?
The Mom who denounces a faith community?
The Mom who make Pinterest worthy party favors by hand?
The Mom who never volunteers at school?
The Mom who has some extra baby weight?
The Mom who exercises daily?
We are ALL in this together. We all are so similar in that we all make choices that we believe are best for our families at the time. Let’s stop judging or gossiping about each other.
Next time you see a fellow Mom, and you find yourself thinking of comparing yourself to her or placing any kind of judgment on what she does/wears/says/decides… let’s remind ourselves and each other, we are on the same team, Mamas!
If we support each other and act like we are truly on the same team, together, we can create a better world for our families and ourselves!
How can we all show support of each other to show we really are all on the same team? #TeamMOM
