My shoulder pain tells me that carrying my 30 lb son is not great for my body. My daughter’s full body rash tells me that taking 10 days of amoxicillin is not great for her body. And taking on too much crap, tells me that, it’s not good for my inner-body…or inner self.
It seems that a physical symptom is so much easier to diagnose and fix than an “inner symptom.” To say my daughter got splattered with pink paint balls the size of Red Hot candies, would give you a fair description of what we woke up to today. Luckily I had a hunch it was an allergy! However, it got me thinking…. I’d love to be allergic to a “to do” list that is over 12 items…my to do list is never ending…like many of you, I am sure! And there are probably a few other things I would like to add to my ‘allergy list,’ while I am at it!
After a trip to the pediatrician, I called my husband who is sitting comfortably at work, getting all of his action items completed without any interruption in his schedule today (yes, I feel jealous can you tell?), and went into a straight 2 minute monologue about how I feel like I have 62 things to which I am committed at all times where I can not focus on anything 100%, and that is NOT to mentioned that when one of kids get sick that I have to drop everything because I have a more flexible schedule than he does….. and then I went on to list all of the 62 items.
That phone call showed me that clearly, facing a list that appears to be 62 things and not having adequate time to schedule those things …is what I am currently allergic to! It is driving me crazy! I am stressed, taking it out on my husband and believe that it is NOT helping my shoulder pain either at this point! Though I felt stress, I was not able to reflect on the ‘inner symptom’ until I heard myself on the phone call.
What are you allergic to?
To what does your inner self say “NO!!!! …ENOUGH! THIS IS NUTS!”? What circumstances, habits or situations make your inner self say “Nope, not going for this! This is just crazy!”? Take stock of the situations that arise, where you inner self is trying to tell you about its allergy! Then make a list….put it on your “Allergy List.”
