My friend had a job interview coming up and asked me to write a letter of recommendation. She figured I would be a good source who knew her character, intelligence, integrity and potential, best! I was honored to write this letter. I put a lot of time and thought into this letter and she was very appreciative. As I was sending the letter to the contact, I thought to myself…. Maybe we could start a chain letter of recommendations through our circle of friends. When we see/hear others communicate the strengths they see in us, not only do we feel complimented, we usually begin to see that there could be something to their ideas! This leads us to focus more on our strengths rather than what we see as our shortcomings! Moms need this more now than ever!
Moms…let’s be honest, we all know that identifying our shortfalls and weaknesses is easy peasy for us, isn’t it? It can take us one millisecond to figure out where we come up short as a Mom, but it can take hours for us to figure out where our strengths lie. I think we need a push! We all need a “Letter of RecomMOMdation!”
Forward this to a friend or family member who would be willing to write you this Letter of RecomMOMdation, and agree to reciprocate the favor! Requirements are stated below:
- Letter must be completed by deadline – April 1, 2010. (no joke J ) or whenever you decide!
- Letter must spend at least one paragraph for each of the following:
- your strengths as a person
- your strengths as a Mom
- Concluding paragraph should tackle your potential and/or what “job” , “benefits” or “raise” you should receive.
We all need Letters of RecomMOMdations to help us create a little equilibrium when we weigh our strengths and perceived weaknesses! Have fun with this!
If you send me any Letters of RecomMOMdation, I will post it on the Guilt Free Mom Blog…with your permission, of course!
