Tip #2: Bedtime Goals?
Now, I’m not talking about the “hmm honey, think you have time/ energy tonight, wink wink?” type of goals…but think about what time would you actually like to get to bed.
We all know what a lack of sleep does to us…and if it becomes chronic, we are in bad shape!
We could go all night running around to get things done, once the kids are in bed, replying to emails we did not get to during our busy days, finally catching up with our phone calls, bill paying, guilty pleasure TV show, laundry, thank you notes…the list is endless.
However, when you begin your day, set a goal on what time you’d like to get to bed that night. Yesterday, I woke up early to exercise, so I decided I’d love to be in bed at 9:30 that night to ensure I get good sleep (little did I know my oldest would wake up twice!).
So at 9:25pm my husband sits down to join me for an episode of “House Hunters” and he says, “should we watch this or head on up to go to bed?” Since I set my goal, it reminded me what is really important…TV or good sleep?
